Allan Kyle, age 87, of Hannibal NY, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Hannibal, NY.
Allan was born in Cato, NY to the late Robert and Florence (Perkins) Kyle on April 22 nd , 1935. He attended school in Cato, NY. Allan married Lillian Harris on November 17, 1956, in Fulton, NY.
He was a farmer in his youth and became a farm machinery and truck mechanic in Weedsport and Hannibal Center NY. He was a musician and lover of big band jazz and polka music. Allan played the piano and accordion all his life and was a member of several local bands, to include The Cordettes, The Discords, The Drifters, and The Angie Spano Band.
He utilized his mechanic’s skills to create his own piano repair and refurbishing business, specializing in player pianos, nickelodeons and orchestrions. He operated his business for 54 years from 1963 until his retirement in 2017. Allan’s reputation of knowledge, skills, expertise and integrity for piano refurbishment were known nationally as he serviced and sold player pianos from Maine to Florida.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Cedric Kyle; and son, Keith (Nancy) Kyle.
Allan is survived by his loving wife of 66 years (to the day), Lillian Kyle; son, Kevin (Charlynn) Kyle; daughters, Roxanne (Skip) Draper and Darla (Konrad) Klausner; granddaughter, Anna Kyle; grandsons, Benjamin, Andrew, Steven, Daniel, Joel, Nathan, and Caleb Kyle; granddaughters, Grace and Hope Kyle, Vanessa Stachowicz and Brittany Pennington; grandsons, Kyle and Kalum Klausner; as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
